Ainsley Shannon

Ainsley graduated cum laude from the University of Ottawa’s Common Law program in 2020 following which she articled with a full-service firm where she focused on general litigation. Ainsley was called to the Bar in 2021 and joined Forget Smith’s team that same year. Since joining Forget Smith, Ainsley has practiced across all areas of insurance defence litigation, including personal injury, subrogated matters, property disputes, construction, and product liability. Ainsley also adeptly represents plaintiffs in personal injury and property damage disputes.
  

Ainsley has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court as well as the License Appeal Tribunal on numerous occasions. She has earned several successful decisions including in disputes over catastrophic impairment designation, entitlement to non-earner benefits, income replacement benefits, various medical and rehabilitation benefits, and the application of the minor injury guideline. 

Prior to receiving her J.D., Ainsley obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto where she double majored in Psychology and Theatre. Ainsley is a member of the Advocacy Club through which she enjoys organizing social events and continuing education programs for lawyers of the Ottawa Bar.
